The Challenge

POSmusic were engaged to create a vibe that would stand out in a busy food court, and provide a fun and positive atmosphere that was provided relief from the overwhelming shopping environment.

The music program needed to appeal to the tastes and lifestyles of their demographic, particularly focussed on younger, fashion conscious females, and draw attention to shoppers in a busy food court.

POSmusic also needed to provide a unique hardware solution that could play music clearly and at a consistent volume, but that could easily be installed in the small confines of a shopping centre kiosk

The Answer

To create the right atmosphere, POS musicologists designed a custom playlist alive with contemporary, energetic songs, all screened for family-friendly content & appropriate language. The music program drew heavily from current chart hits and radio playlists to appeal to a teenage-focussed demographic, but also included fun, colourful Indie and Dance selections with a broader appeal. The music program is regularly updated to maintain its current edge.

For the delivery of the music program, POSmusic integrated a custom hardware solution incorporating the SONOS: PLAY. This system includes remote scheduling so that the right music plays at the right time: the latest pop releases for the younger demographic after school hours, and a broader music selection during the day.

The hardware solution requires no maintenance or interaction, meaning the music plays on schedule while staff are free to serve customers.
