CrowdSound.net is encouraging would-be composers to put together a score by voting on each note. Brendon Ferris is the brainchild behind this musical experiment. The Dominican Republic-based programmer has created a platform where each note is given the nod by 100 votes.
With a stave of rules dictating the chord progression and structure, the composite of composers are in the final section of their creation. Some noteworthy design has emerged, with descending scales appearing to be the default decision.
Once the mutual melody is locked in, Ferris’ next foray is to crowdsource the lyrics the same way and have would-be scribes put forward their interpretation of the piece.
Lay your ears on the composition so far, and check out some of the renditions here.
