Taking a break from hanging out with Kanye West and Rihanna, Beatles legend Paul McCartney has put his hand to penning some music to complement Skype ’s Valentine themed emoji’s.
Working with emotions such as ‘flirting’, ‘blushing’, ‘love’ and ‘lust’, he’s cutting loose with lyric-less sound snapshots filled out with harpsichord and electric guitar. The master musician says the challenging part was working around tweaking and squeezing the full feeling into just five seconds.
As stated in the Skype press release: “Paul genuinely loves Skype (of course) and, inspired by our existing Mojis, was excited to lend his voice to the Mojis family. Likewise, we were over the moon to work with Paul, and it was a great creative challenge for us to create the animations to compliment his legendary sound”.
This isn’t the first time rock royalty have plied their trade in creating micro-musical identities, with ambient artist (and producer of U2, David Bowie, and Talking Heads) Brian Eno’s most beloved composition being the iconic “Windows 95 Startup Sound”
