As the music industry continues to pay respects to fallen hard rock icon Lemmy Killmeister, one tribute that’s grabbed our attention is the fan-released “Lemmy Tribute Möd” for Rockstar Games mega-hit GTA IV.
Playing as the great man himself, players can now indulge in some of Lemmy’s favourite pastimes (such as smoking and drinking) while also indulging in the usual GTA fare of drug trafficking, homicide, and… terrorising cows.
Of course this isn’t the first time Lemmy has appeared in video game format, having most recently voiced the character of “Kill Master” (geddit?) in the game “Brutal Legend” alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford and Lita Ford. However his earliest appearance in pixel form was for the “official” Motöhead video game on the Commodore Amiga (whatever that is), released in 1992.
Lemmy, who sadly passed away whilst actually playing a video game, also provided the inspiration for one of Super Mario’s foes, and appeared in the long-running Guitar Hero series… although there’s no doubt this is the virtual Lemmy we’re most interested in living.
